Description: Fourth annual educational Native American pow wow cosponsored by the W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir. Lots of demonstrators showing how things were made and used a long time ago, in addition to the regular pow wow activities of dancing, drumming, singing, tee pees, story tellers, flint knappers, etc. Childrens activities all weekend at the pavilion with Park Ranger Juanita Souther. Contact her at 336-921-3390 for Park information. Learn how to make a dream catcher or medicine bag. Make a rain stick or God's Eye weaving.
Hours: Ft. Hamby Park opens at 8AM. The Pow Wow is 9-9 Friday and Saturday, 9-5 on Sunday.
Admission: The Park charges a $1.00 entrance fee per person.
The Pow Wow is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for Kids.
Friday is Kids Day and children are FREE with the schools.
Directions: From Wilkesboro, take US421 north six miles to Milepost 293.
At the Ft. Hamby State Park sign turn south on South Recreation Road.
Go 1 mile to the Park entrance.
